Klim Keramik consists of ceramicists Mette and Pernille, who are mother and daughter. In addition to the middle name Klim, which comes from Pernille's paternal side of the family, the two share an extraordinary aesthetic sense, and an ability to convey the fairytale-like. The two of them make unique art pieces, and thrive on constantly renewing themselves and pushing limits.
Mette
Mette holds a Master of Arts in Nordic Language and Literature from Aarhus University, and has experience from both the communication- and cinema industries. She has, for a period of time, run the vintage shop Mettes Fund in Solbjerg, a village near Aarhus. The shop dealt in Swedish finds, Norwegian glass and Danish art photography. Mette's wild imagination, aesthetic sense and certain sense of quality are all clearly reflected in her art, along with a certain temper and a teasing desire to challenge conventions.
Pernille
Pernille is currently studying art in Viborg, but already has years of experience with virtually all kinds of artistic work. She has an incomparable ability to convey personality, all the way from the first draft to the finished product, and her great love for animals often finds its way into her works. Despite her young age, Pernille's works are characterized by a great maturity, consideration and artistic authority.
Anders
Anders bears the titles of workshop dog, source of inspiration and bundle of joy. A three-year old Samoyed with a smile on his face, a twinkle in his eyes and an energetic mind. A wonderfully lovely dog and Pernille's special buddy.
The Ceramics
All ceramics are stonewares. Burnt at 1.250 degrees, it can withstand both dishwasher and freezing temperatures. We only use non-toxic glazes, and therefore all products can be used for both storing and consumption of food or drink. We are lucky enough to live in a place with solar cells, so whenever possible, we burn 100 percent on homemade solar energy. The works are unique and handmade with love and great ingenuity. Rooted in the world of fairy tales, they tickle the imagination and enrich the home. Enjoy!
